The importance of signage
October 20, 2008Signage plays a very important role in our lives. It usually indicates a danger warning or some special information. We are almost aware of some of the signage that we usually see. The most common signboards that we see are fire exit, no parking, no smoking signs, etc.
Safety measures should be taken in public places to alert people about any potential dangers or hazards. When preparing safety signs care should always be taken that bright colours are used to indicate the caution. For example, white colour on a blue background is a good combination. Using bright colours and the appropriate font ensures that even a person with impaired vision can see and understand it from a distance.
Safety signs make use of symbols to provide a clear message. These signs should be compulsorily displayed at public places like offices, schools, hotels, etc. These signs are very important and hence nobody should take them lightly as they save many lives every day. Apart from this there are many other safety signs like danger signs, prohibition signs, warning signs, do not touch signs and others.
