Category: Safety Signs — By Ruth

People around the globe have different languages and background, so there is a need for a proper alerting identification system that visually makes people understand the message as quickly as possible. Proper safety signs avoid accidents and suffering among individuals.

Safety signs should have a standard format, size, colour and shape. The most important thing it should have is a firm and easily understood message.

Environmental and facility safety signs are larger in size so that they can be observed from a distance. These types of signs contain little textual information for visual transparency from a distance.  Safety signage should be placed in such a manner that one can clearly see it.  Safety signage should be made of solid material so that it does not get damaged.

Safety signage alerts a person to hazards on the road, in industrial settings or railways.  It identifies the hazards and gives a description. It creates awareness about the consequences of potential hazards.

A foremost important element that has be considered before designing a safety sign is deciding the severity of potential injuries that a person can suffer. Developed hazard description pictorials visibly identify hazards. Safety signs should clearly identify the action which is essential to avoid an accident.
